Gila R. Cohen

Managing Partner

Gila is a Managing Partner of Vanbarton Group. She is involved in all functions of the Firm, including strategy development, oversight of the investment platform, and the growth of its strategic partnerships. Prior to joining the Vanbarton Group, Gila was the Chief Investment Strategy Officer of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (USA) (“MUFG”) and was responsible for advising and investing the strategic alternatives investment portfolio, as well as playing a strategic role in MUFG’s global initiatives. Throughout her career, she has helped build multiple businesses and executed a broad range of transactions across real estate, private credit, and private equity. Gila held senior investment banking and trusted advisor roles at J.P. Morgan, UBS Investment Bank, and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Gila is a member of Vanbarton Group’s Management, Investment, Portfolio Strategy and Valuations, and Investment Strategy Committees. She also serves on several public and private boards, including the Women’s Investor Steering Committee for AIF Global and the Investor Advisory Board for RELPI, where she is Chair. She is also an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association. Gila earned her B.A. in Art History with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University.
